About ADDI

A student association in Aachen bringing different disciplines together to develop aircraft, explore aerial robotics and learn by building.

Who we are

Aachen Drone Development Initiative (ADDI e.V.) is a student association founded in 2019. We bring together students from different disciplines to take part in international competitions and develop projects in aerial robotics.

What we do

Our projects span fixed-wing aircraft, multicopters, autonomous systems and solar-powered flight. We aim to understand the complete engineering process: designing structures, selecting materials, building electronics, writing software and testing how everything works together.

Every project starts with a question. We research possible solutions, turn them into designs and prototypes, and learn what works through testing. Seeing something we built take flight is the result of practical work, persistence and collaboration.

Connected through TechAachen

We are a member of TechAachen, the umbrella organization connecting student initiatives at RWTH Aachen University and FH Aachen. Together, we share knowledge and networks and collaborate on common challenges.
