Project description:

We are developing a solar powered glider from scratch. The goal is to one day be able to cross the Atlantic … But for now we are happy with flying for an extended period of time on solar power alone.

Technologies used:

Part of the project is to design and build the plane using lightweight construction techniques (wood, carbon fibre) And attaching the solar panels.

Additionally we are designing our own MPPT controller that maximises the solar power output and charges a battery. For this we are designing our own PCBs and developing control software, running on an STM32 microcontroller.
